New Audreys, Marilyns, Graces, Ingrids...

I've always admired 20th century movie stars. Women like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Tippi Hedren, Eva Marie Saint, Kim Novak and many others are unforgettable actresses and also fashion icons. All these ladies had great roles in Alfred Hitchcock's movies, which I really adore and I have been watching with big pleasure. In my opinion actresses in these days have lost this elegance and charm, which was so inherent to mentioned ladies.
Also I was very surprised, when noticed that outfit in these movies was so similar to nowadays. Of course it is well known, that fashion trends always come back, but it's seems that it's happening directly and even in copied manner. So I decided compare fashion between 21st century and middle of 20th century. You might be surprised, because nothing really have changed! :)

Picture in the middle proves that 20th century movie stars are inspiration for these days fashion designers and everyone of us can be new Audrey.

These Audrey's picture and dress is already a legend - a piece of elegance. I suggest tree similar and adorable dresses and wonderful necklace - not so many pearls, but still cute.

Even in simple shirt Audrey looks amazing and lovely. Also you can combine shirt with some belt and get something wearable.

This Grace Kelly's dress is seen in movie "Rare Window". If you love it, try some Elie Saab wonderful masterpieces.

But if it's too classy, I have found also simpler dress, which definitely isn't worser than previous.

Another chic dresses for Grace - I would say double grace :)

Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman proves that black shirt and white blouse never leave the stage of classic fashion. You might seen her in "Casablanca" and "Notorious".

And here comes the blond beauty - Marilyn, who is imitated by so many celebrities, but she always will stay the one and only.

The same swimsuit just a little bit advanced.

Honestly I was really surprised by these shoes - I couldn't imagine that then already were shoes with hole in the platform...or maybe I just underestimated last century fashion.

Lovely costumes haven't lost 20th century breath. Beautiful as much as possible...especially when Marilyn is wearing them.

As you see there is no difference now or then between little white dress, business costume or luxurious gowns - still the same chic and grace. The only thing that have changed is the person who wears these clothes. Maybe we have lost that charm because of the jeans or sneakers or maybe it's the way it should be.
I hope you enjoyed this little trip back to the 20th century! :)

Really great post, you're right - fashion is coming back in a copy-like way.
And I just adore Grace Kelly and her style!
It's true, too bad today's actresses don't have the same elegance she had...
